North Park’s The Linkery<\/a>, recently referred to by the LA Times<\/a> as “a rock star of the local dining scene,” takes to the stage with its weekly Tuesday night special starting at 5PM: fried chicken and 1\/2 price flights of beer.<\/p>\n

There’s more to this pairing than meets the eye, though. The chicken is pasture-raised locally at TAJ Farms<\/a> in Valley Center before getting fried up in house-made breading and drizzled with local honey. The baby broccoli on the side, saut\u00e9ed\u00a0with house-cured bacon, is from San Diego’s Suzie’s Farm<\/a>. Mashed potatoes infused with caramelized onions are topped with chicken gravy and bits of sausage to complete the plate.<\/p>\n

On the beer side, a you-pick-it flight of four 5 oz tasters costs $7 instead of $14. And thanks to the second annual Green Flash grillout and tap takeover<\/a> that took place on Sunday, the current tap list is all local, too. Cheers to that!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
