Here’s a roundup of some of the SDBW coverage from around town so far:<\/p>\n

Brewery Rowe<\/strong> posted a flurry of pieces online Nov. 1st and 2nd. <\/em>“America’s Foamiest City”<\/a> tells the story of Bruce Glassman and “the official book of San Diego craft beer,” San Diego’s Top Brewers<\/a><\/em>; this post also serves as a preview for the book’s launch party happening tonight at Mission Brewery. Tons of brewers from around town will be signing your copy of the book from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

It’s only fitting then that the next post by Rowe focuses on what it’s like to be a craft beer celebrity. Read on<\/a> to hear from Port Brewing \/ The Lost Abbey’s Tomme Arthur and Green Flash’s Chuck Silva. Posts “As you like to drink it”<\/a> and “Quick guide to San Diego Beer Week”<\/a> break down SDBW events based on personality and intrigue, respectively.<\/p>\n

“Brewed awakening”<\/a> feels out the growing trend of beer breakfasts, including the two big ones (BYOB @ Karl Strauss and the Rare Beer Breakfast @ Stone) that are kicking off SDBW right now.<\/p>\n

“Pint-sized Pour: Heavy Petti”<\/a> discusses the origins and characteristics of Karl Strauss’ San Diego Beer Week Double IPA that will be available both on tap (general admission) and on cask (VIP section) at tomorrow’s San Diego Brewers Guild Festival. San Diego Beer Blog \/ <\/strong>West Coaster <\/em>staffer\u00a0Jeff Hammett was on KPBS midday radio yesterday with Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens Pastry Chef Andrew Higgins to discuss San Diego Beer Week and give listeners a few tips. A few minutes after their segment, “Ten Days For Beer Lovers”<\/a>\u00a0by Alex Morales popped up on kpbs.org, covering the highlights of the program.<\/p>\n

Hammett was busy on his blog too, with one post dedicated to SDBW beer & food events<\/a>, another for the “beer geek,” <\/a>and the most recent to promote Blind Lady Ale House’s Meet the Brewer tasting flights<\/a>. After last SDBW Hammett reviewed this particular series of events for the December issue<\/a> of West Coaster. <\/em>This year the guest brewers are some of the top in the game, including Tomme Arthur of Port Brewing \/ The Lost Abbey (last night), Jeff Bagby of Pizza Port Carlsbad (Friday), the brewers of Mother Earth Brew Co. (Sunday), Yiga Miyashiro of Pizza Port Ocean Beach (Wednesday),\u00a0Chuck Silva of Green Flash (Thursday), and Patrick Rue of The Bruery (Friday). This is a great way to learn about great beer from the great people who make it.<\/p>\n

WC<\/em> staffer Brandon Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>\u00a0writes for a bunch of different publications, including the San Diego Reader <\/em>online.
