They\u2019ve earned fans behind continually rotating beers, a charity-minded ethos and a design aesthetic centered around nature and its various resources. All of that will be on display in great quantity when the Miramar-based interest opens its first satellite tasting room\u2014<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pureatthepark\">Pure at the Park<\/a><\/strong>\u2014in Banker\u2019s Hill during a grand-opening weekend, <strong>August 2 to 4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A\nliteral cornerstone for the newly-constructed The Park, Bankers Hill building at\n<strong>2865 Fifth Avenue<\/strong>, the 2,000-square-foot\nvenue features two bars on either side of an L-shaped floorplan. A maximum of\n20 Pure Project beers are available at a time, along with bottled beers. The\nlatter is available in a convenient to-go area outfitted with a crowler\nmachine, beer-to-go, apparel and other merchandise items. It is but one of the spaces\nmany thoughtful design elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_02.jpg?resize=724%2C1024&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22604\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_02.jpg?w=724&amp;ssl=1 724w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_02.jpg?resize=212%2C300&amp;ssl=1 212w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_02.jpg?resize=768%2C1087&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince\nit\u2019s a higher-end space, we wanted to go with higher-end materials, but still\nmake it feel like Pure Project,\u201d says co-founder <strong>Mat Robar<\/strong>. \u201cThe way we did that was going with a lot of blending of\nmaterials.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key example are winding, wooden tree branches outfitted with LED light fixtures that cover most of the ceiling and are anchored into concrete pillars. Robar and his colleagues saw no point in appointing those load-bearing cylinders to look like trees when everybody\u2014themselves included\u2014would know full well they were fake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_4756.jpg?resize=1024%2C575&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22605\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_4756.jpg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_4756.jpg?resize=300%2C168&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_4756.jpg?resize=768%2C431&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, bar-tops are constructed from a blend of a white, hard-surfaced, Quartz-like material augmented by pieces of a felled Torrey pine. That ultra-rare piece of building material was procured from a private lot adjacent to the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. It makes its way into other tasting-room components including a 13-foot-long table with a turquoise ribbon of resin, blown with an air compressor during the cooling process to look like a stream running down its middle. Hanging plants, a copper-accented watering can, wooden tap handles and faux-rock patio furniture further drive home Pure Project\u2019s established thematic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\ntook a bevy of craftspeople to bring the company\u2019s vision to life. Construction\nwas handled by local firm <strong>CLTVT<\/strong>,\narchitecture was the charge of <strong>Tecscape\nDesign<\/strong>, woodwork and fabrication were done by <strong>J3 Products Group<\/strong>, trees and lighting were installed by <strong>Fox &amp; Flora<\/strong>, and tap handles came\nfrom nearby Barrio Logan operation <strong>Knotty\nTaps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"561\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_04.jpg?resize=1024%2C561&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22606\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_04.jpg?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_04.jpg?resize=300%2C164&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/pure_04.jpg?resize=768%2C420&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bankers Hill tasting room is one of two Pure Project currently has in the works. It\u2019s other in-progress venue-to-be is in Carlsbad. Dubbed <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pureatthevillage\">Pure at the Village<\/a><\/strong>, it has received most of the sign-off needed for the company to begin work on it. All that remains is approval from Carlsbad&#8217;s City Council. That space will feature a large tree under which guests may enjoy their beer. An ETA for that spot has yet to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pure\nat the Park will be open daily, <strong>3 to 9\np.m on Mondays<\/strong>, <strong>12 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays\nand Wednesdays<\/strong>, <strong>12-10 p.m. Thursday\nthrough Saturday<\/strong> and <strong>12 to 8 p.m. on\nSundays<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since debuting in 2016, Pure Project Brewing has been one of the San Diego beer industry\u2019s success stories.
