Located at <strong>9962 Prospect Street, Suite E<\/strong>, that space housed <strong>Finest Made Ales<\/strong> and <strong>Twisted Manzanita Ales<\/strong> prior to Council, which shuttered in December of last year. Earlier this week, that deal fell apart when negotiations between the El Cajon-based Creative Creature and the space\u2019s landlord reached an impasse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe love Santee, but the owner of the Prospect Avenue location didn\u2019t want to be burned by another brewery, and we didn\u2019t have the means to remove and store the equipment on top of the purchase price at this time,\u201d says co-founder <strong>Derek Carnation<\/strong>. \u201cWe will continue cranking out batches at our current spot to fill the East Village tasting room.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The East Village venue Carnation refers to is a space Creative Creature shares with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhatcoffee.com\">Red Hat Coffee<\/a><\/strong> at <strong>440 16th Street<\/strong>, where beer isn&#8217;t being poured just yet (though coffee is).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this month, Creative Creature Brewing announced it would be taking over the Santee brewery and tasting room previously occupied by Council Brewing.
