It has an atmosphere and tasty grub that&#8217;s perfect for game day, but the real reason I keep coming back are the beers from in-house operation, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.residentbrewing.com\">Resident Brewing<\/a><\/strong>. While IPAs ranging from hazy to coconut-infused are splendid, the best pre-game beer on the board right now is <strong>Bankers Pils<\/strong>. Crisp and dry, yet equipped with subtle toasty, crackery notes that smack of the Old World, it&#8217;s a well-made pilsner. The punny nod to a &#8216;hood not far from Resident&#8217;s Gaslamp Quarter digs is the only laughing matter where this beer is concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From the Brewer: <\/strong>&#8220;They say pilsners are &#8216;naked,&#8217; since the style doesn\u2019t have enough bitterness, roast, or acidity for off-flavors to hide behind. Bankers Pils is an exhibitionist. Malt flavors of crackers and freshly baked bread form the foundation of our Czech-style Pilsner.
