{"id":2141,"date":"2011-08-09T10:18:28","date_gmt":"2011-08-09T17:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/?p=2141"},"modified":"2011-08-09T10:32:59","modified_gmt":"2011-08-09T17:32:59","slug":"rsdj-chamber-of-commerce-closes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/2011\/08\/09\/rsdj-chamber-of-commerce-closes\/","title":{"rendered":"RSDJ Chamber of Commerce closes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This letter was sent out to the members of the Rancho San Diego Jamul Chamber of Commerce (which no longer has a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rsdjchamber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>). <a href=\"https:\/\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/2011\/08\/05\/rancho-san-diego-jamul-chamber-of-commerce-folds\/\" target=\"_blank\">We\u00a0\u00a0reported that the Chamber was issued a &#8220;Pay or Quit&#8221; notice last Thursday<\/a> at their office&#8217;s location in La Mesa. \u00a0We&#8217;re still trying to make contact with anyone in the Chamber regarding when ticket holders can expect refunds.\u00a0Big thanks to reader \u00a0Steve S. for sending over this information.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dear RSDJ Chamber Members,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce would like to thank our members for their continued support through\u00a0the years.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Despite the boards of director\u2019s tremendous efforts to continue to offer businesses educational programs as well as\u00a0promote Rancho San Diego and Jamul businesses as an emerging economy, recent economic conditions\u00a0have proven to be difficult.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The economy has significantly impacted businesses, particularly non-profit corporations which have been hit\u00a0extremely\u00a0hard during this recessionary time.\u00a0Therefore, the decision to sunset the chamber was decided. This was a very difficult decision. As a small non-profit working hard to do really good things for community organizations and raise funds to continue to offer chamber members programs presented insurmountable challenges.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Efforts have been made to allow our chamber members to take full advantage of their membership with either the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and\/or East County Chamber of Commerce.
