They have been one of the runaway success stories over the past three years in the San Diego beer scene. Pure Project Brewing<\/strong><\/a> was the first tenant to open in H.G. Fenton<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s original Brewery Igniter <\/strong>complex in Miramar. At the time, that leased brewery and tasting room model was completely unproven, but the fledgling brewery came out of the gate with a clear sense of what it wanted to be, with beers that captured the palates of early visitors and solid marketing that helped communicate the business\u2019 existence, identity, and humanitarian persona. That\u2019s not to say they didn\u2019t face their fair share of challenges. Soon, one of the biggest\u2014a lack of space for customers at their small brewery tasting room\u2014will be solved when Pure Project opens a much larger satellite tasting room in Bankers Hill, in late spring or early summer of 2019.<\/p>\n

Located at 2865 Fifth Avenue<\/strong>, it will be installed within The Park,<\/strong> Bankers Hill<\/strong>,\u00a0a mixed-use, mid-rise luxury development by\u00a0Zephyr<\/strong><\/a>, located just west of Balboa Park. The space will come in just over 2,000 square feet, and include seating both indoors and on an outdoor patio. Says Pure Project co-founder\u00a0Mat Robar<\/strong>, \u201cThe new location will have the trademark Pure Project ambiance adapted to fit the feel and architecture of the building and location.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“We are really excited to create something special in this location. We believe Bankers Hill to be a great area for us to expand, being in close proximity to Balboa Park and a short distance from areas such as Downtown, Little Italy, Hillcrest, Mission Hills, North Park, and many more,” says fellow co-founder\u00a0Jesse Pine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pure Project is on-pace to produce around 2,000 barrels of beer this year. They have proven the Brewery Igniter model to be a viable means of proof-of-concept as much as they have proven it to be exclusively sustainable as a starting point. By renting out additional units at the industrial park they are housed within, Pure Project has been able to grow, but will need to make changes at their current facility or locate\u00a0a site for a new, larger brewing facility at some point in the future to continue its growth trajectory.<\/p>\n

Robar says to keep an eye on Pure Project\u2019s social media, as he and his colleagues plan to disseminate additional details about the Bankers Hill tasting room’s progress via the company\u2019s new\u00a0@pureatthepark<\/em><\/strong><\/a> Instagram account.<\/p>\n
