After an incredibly lengthy winter, spring is finally in full bloom, and that means the dawn of beer-event season. Sure, there\u2019s always a lot going on in the local suds scene, but this is where it all picks up en route to the summer festival season. We\u2019ve picked out some featured events, but don\u2019t forget to keep your eye on our full-scale events page<\/strong><\/a>! (And clear your calendar for May 19!)<\/p>\n

May | Beer to the Rescue Events<\/a>: <\/strong>May is Lupus Awareness Month. Fittingly, the Beer to the Rescue campaign benefiting the Lupus Foundation of Southern California<\/strong><\/a> has a whopping ten <\/em>events taking place. B2TR reps will be at Societe Brewing<\/strong><\/a> every Tuesday in May, Division 23 Brewing <\/strong><\/a>is releasing a dry-hopped hazy IPA brewed for the cause May 3<\/strong>, then there\u2019ll be four straight days of fundraiser May 17-20<\/strong>, with events at Thorn St. Brewery<\/strong><\/a>, Rouleur Brewing<\/strong><\/a>, Bay City Brewing<\/strong><\/a> and Pacific Islander Beer Co.<\/strong><\/a> | Societe Brewing, 8262 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, Kearny Mesa; Division 23 Brewing, 7408 Trade Street, Miramar; Thorn St. Brewery, 3176 Thorn Street, North Park; Rouleur Brewing, 5840 El Camino Real, Suite 101, Carlsbad; Bay City Brewing, 3760 Hancock Street, Point Loma; Pacific Islander Beer Co., 8665 Argent Street, Santee; Times Vary by Location<\/em><\/p>\n

May 5 | Rhythm & Brews<\/a>: <\/strong>The San Diego Brewers Guild <\/strong><\/a>always puts on a good party, and, with breweries and beers from across San Diego County and a full slate local musicians pumping out live music, this is one of their biggest of the entire year. New to this seventh-annual fete this year is a tented VIP area with rare brews and food crafted to pair with those liquid wares. | Historic Vista Village, South Citrus Avenue & East Broadway, Vista, 1 p.m.<\/em><\/p>\n

May 19 | Arts & Amps<\/a>: Karl Strauss Brewing<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s successful summer art-and-music series kicks off with Boostive<\/strong> and Elektric Voodoo<\/strong> performing at the San Diego stalwart\u2019s outdoor beer garden.
