More than 200 “tweeps” traded laptops for smartphones and mobilized to the West Coast Tavern<\/a> for the SDBW<\/a>-themed tweet-up.\u00a0 Even though the internet was understandably slow, attendees were able to see their tweets on a large wall-mounted screen with the #sdtweetup<\/a> hashtag.<\/p>\n

There were giveaways, raffles, and some excellent pairing “stations” : Avery White Rascal paired with ahi tuna poke with avocado, acai berries and a citrus and White Rascal aioli; Stone Pale Ale paired with baked spot prawns with a chipotle roasted corn salsa on a bed of wilted arugula; Green Flash West Coast IPA paired with beef tenderloin skewer, crispy onion strings and a New Orleans spiced remoulade; Eel River Organic Porter paired with beer-a-misu; Chef’s choice station – PBR paired with a crispy piece of chocolate-covered applewood smoked bacon.<\/p>\n

West Coaster ran into Greg Koch of Stone Brewing Co. and discussed the proposed Stone location in South Park<\/a>.\u00a0 James from BrewDog<\/a> was also on hand enjoying the festivities organized by Peggy Gartin<\/a> and “co-disorganizer” Melani Gordon of TapHunter.com<\/a>.\u00a0 An excellent event we hope to see more of in the future.<\/p>\n
