The wait is over, San Diego \u2013 six-packs of Ballast Point\u2019s Sculpin IPA are finally here.\u00a0 Previously only available in twenty-two ounce bottles or on tap, this award-winning brew has finally joined the twelve-ounce ranks.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s been a long time coming,\u201d commented Head Brewer\/Distiller Yuseff Cherney, still jet-lagged from his recent business trip to Italy.<\/p>\n

Owner\/Founder Jack White said that BP is \u201cvery excited\u201d about the new development. In terms of distribution, White said that Sculpin is \u201cgoing to stay local right now\u201d \u2013 the exception being select outside markets such as Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

The coveted sixers won\u2019t be available at the tasting room, but Distribution Manager Ryan Glenn said that the award-winning brew \u201cshould hit the retailer\u2019s shelves just in time for Beer Week,\u201d with a projected price tag of $14.99 or $15.99.<\/p>\n

The IPA is one of the company\u2019s most popular choices \u2013 it has outsold their prestigious Big Eye IPA over the last few weeks.\u00a0 Ballast Point currently has a year-round lineup of five beers.\u00a0 Glenn added that some time in the future the brewery is \u201clooking to make it six\u201d with Sculpin.\u00a0 Director of Sales Earl Kight remarked: \u201cThat is the ideal situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the coming weeks, you\u2019ll also be able to find your favorite BP brews at Costco.\u00a0 Kight revealed their plan to sell twenty-two ounce “bombers” in eight-packs, \u201chopefully by Thanksgiving.\u201d\u00a0 Included in the pack?\u00a0 Two bottles of Big Eye IPA, two bottles of Sculpin IPA, two bottles of Black Marlin Porter and two bottles of Calico Amber Ale.\u00a0 Also available will be their Bloody Mary Mix, shrink-wrapped in a two-pack.\u00a0 The brewery isn\u2019t just inundating San Diego, but other countries as well.\u00a0 Nagano Trading, a Japanese distributor, sent their empty kegs to Ballast Point in order to satisfy the growing Japanese market.\u00a0 Six-packs of Big Eye, Calico, and pallets of assorted twenty-two ounce bottles are leaving San Diego next Friday en route to Puerto Rico, where there is a burgeoning home brew contingent.\u00a0 The world’s the limit for Ballast Point.<\/p>\n
