It’s been an annoying factor in owning a brewery and distributing beer, and for many years those lost kegs were considered just the cost of doing business. However, in recent years software development has made it possible to not only know how many kegs your brewery has, but where they are and how long they’ve been outside your brewery.

KegID is one such solution designed to help brewers track their property. “Simply answering the question: ‘Where are my kegs’ allows brewers to save money,” said Chris Spradley, KegID Craft Brand Manager. “We [KegID] can help even more by giving information to keep bars/restaurants accountable and managing your entire inventory of kegs. By doing so, we can offer quality control and higher efficiency with little effort or cost.”

Using QR-coded labels, KegID scans the movement of kegs through an application on a smart phone or tablet. Then, the cloud-based software provides analytics on where the kegs are, where they’re going and if they’re due (or overdue) back to the brewery.

KegID representatives will be visiting San Diego February 8-12. Breweries interested should contact Chris Spradley (Chris.Spradley@SLG.com) to set up an appointment.
