Hess Brewing<\/a> does it again.\u00a0 Despite the less-than-appealing weather conditions lingering in San Diego, there was a terrific turnout for the Oktober Hess Festival and the sun even made an appearance. German Oktoberfest music permeating through the speakers, savory bratwursts on the grill & young and old enjoying themselves made for a great Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

All of your favorites were on tap, with the Festiv\u00fcs D\u00fcsseldorf Altbier the star of the day: \u201cA traditional rival of the Kolsch.\u00a0 A top fermented ale with lager-esque characteristics caused by a low temperature fermentation of the region.\u00a0 This is a \u201cSticke Alt\u201d variation which means it is higher in both alcohol content and hops.\u00a0 This is a complex beer, very alt-school.\u00a0 OG 1.065 \u2013 6.8%ABV \u2013 50 IBUS.\u201d \u00a0Hesstacular to say the least, so go taste some for yourself.<\/p>\n
