{"id":11419,"date":"2015-07-27T14:05:37","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T21:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/?p=11419"},"modified":"2015-07-27T14:05:37","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T21:05:37","slug":"brewers-association-mid-year-production-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/2015\/07\/27\/brewers-association-mid-year-production-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Brewers Association Mid-Year Production Data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u00a0the Brewers Association released mid-year data\u00a0showing a 16 percent increase in American craft beer production volume.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/MidYear_1_HR-e1438030985479.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11421\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/MidYear_1_HR-e1438030985479.jpg?resize=650%2C484&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"MidYear_1_HR\" width=\"650\" height=\"484\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From January through the end of June 2015, approximately 12.2 million barrels of beer were sold by craft brewers, up from 10.6 million barrels during the first half of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndustry growth is occurring in all regions and stemming from a mix of sources including various retail settings and a variety of unique brewery business models,\u201d said Bart Watson, chief economist, Brewers Association. \u201cThe continued growth of small and independent brewers illustrates that additional market opportunities and demand are prevalent, although competition in the sector is certainly growing and the need for brewers to differentiate and produce world class high quality beer is more important than ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As of June 30, 2015, 3,739 breweries were operating in the U.S, an increase of 699 breweries over the same time period of the previous year. Additionally, there were 1,755 breweries in planning. Craft brewers currently employ an estimated 115,469 full-time and part-time workers, many of which are manufacturing jobs, contributing significantly to the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/MidYear_2_HR-e1438031017461.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11420\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/archives.csusm.edu\/westcoastersd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/MidYear_2_HR-e1438031017461.jpg?resize=650%2C501&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"MidYear_2_HR\" width=\"650\" height=\"501\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u00a0the Brewers Association released mid-year data\u00a0showing a 16 percent increase in American craft beer production volume.
