San Diego, CA — MIHO Catering Co. and the San Diego Brewers Guild (SDBG) announce a new virtual culinary experience for San Diego craft beer fans called ‘Hops + Harvest.’ The series will run from September 12 through November 7, 2020, highlighting a new local brewery and unique paired menu every two weeks. Each beer dinner consists of a four-pack of the brewmaster’s favorite beers and a four-course dinner pairing for two.
“We’re excited to be innovating new ways to create the sense of togetherness that we’re all craving right now. At MIHO, we’ve always been interested in creating experiences around good food and drink, and during COVID, we’ve had to introduce new ways to do that. We named this new service Concord because it means ‘agreement or harmony between people or groups’. It’s the perfect name for what we’re doing with SDBG and our amazing local breweries.” Kevin Ho, Co-Founder of MIHO Catering Co.
The beer dinner series is designed to create a unique and memorable guest experience through a thoughtful food and beer pairing dinner that fans can enjoy in the comfort of their own home. Guests have the option to either pick-up their dinner from the host brewery, or for a nominal fee, have the meal delivered to their residence. All guests will be provided a pre-recorded video (accessible online only) featuring MIHO Chef Ryan Bullock and guest brewer sharing insight into the menu, beers, and pairings.
“The Guild’s mission has always been to promote our local breweries through education, events, and community involvement. In place of our in-person, annual Guild Fest, we’ve created a virtual fall dinner series for those who don’t want to miss out on all the great food and beer San Diego has to offer. To give our beer fans a taste of what’s to come, our first course with Second Chance Beer Co. is a tuna ceviche made with albacore, grilled watermelon, pickled rind, mint, cilantro, lime, and crispy wontons, paired with Better Days IPA, a gluten-reduced west coast IPA with citrusy dankness at front-palette, and finishes with notes of grapefruit and pine and a drying bitterness.” Paige McWey Acers, Executive Director of SDBG.
2020 Hops + Harvest Beer Dinner Series:
- Sept. 12 – Second Chance Beer Co.
- Sept. 25 – Societe Brewing Co.
- Oct. 9 – The Lost Abbey
- Oct. 23 – Pure Project
- Nov. 7 – Burgeon Beer Co.
