Miramar’s Longship Brewery crafted three of the county’s first wet hop beers this year, contracting with a local grower in Ramona. The Double IPA, Session IPA, and Hoppy Lager will be available in a few weeks.
Up in Vista, Five Suits Brewing will work with local hop yard Horse Thief Hops to brew a beer for charity group Urban Surf 4 Kids.
This wet hop season will be a strange one, in part due to the pandemic. The San Diego Hop Growers Association reported that the county’s three largest hop yards are not harvesting hops this year.
