On March 15, Governor Gavin Newsom called for the closure of all brewery tasting rooms in the state. Since then, brewers and consumers have continued to adjust to the “new normal.”
Tomorrow, or two months since that Ides of March press conference, our local Brewers Guild will host a 20-minute “Virtual Cheers” starting at 4:45 p.m. on Google Meet. Join by registering at this link. The event takes place during American Craft Beer Week (May 11-17).
Stone Brewing has a busy day on Friday. Co-founder Greg Koch will host a Reddit AMA at 11 a.m. at this link. Then at 4 p.m. he’ll join San Diego Loyal’s Landon Donovan for an Instagram Live Happy Hour on the @sandiegoloyal page. And last but not least, Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station’s head brewer Kris Ketcham celebrates the location’s seventh anniversary with the release of an unfiltered 12.2% triple IPA.
Tomorrow also marks the last event for Iron Fist in Vista since the brewery’s closure in late March. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. they’re selling the last of their merchandise; 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Iron Fist staff. “We had a bunch of great folks, many of whom had new babies and are all now facing the post-COVID19 job market, so we’re hoping to raise some money to help them out,” the post said.
