Beer of the Week: Poundable Pilsner

Beach Grease Beer Co. continues its quest for easy-drinking pilsners

May 31, 2019 By Brandon Hernández

Poundable Pilsner from Beach Grease Beer Co. in Vista

From the Beer Writer: You hear the term “poundable” everywhere these days, but if you want to see it everywhere, head to Vista. Beach Grease Beer Co.‘s tasting room employs the easy-drinking descriptor on its beer board, front window and festival tent, proclaiming itself the “Poundable Beer Company.” Makers of nothing but IPAs, pale ales and pilsners, they are walking that talk, especially with their newest offering, Poundable Pilsner, one of three of that style on the menu. Light in color and body, with a finish that’s smooth versus bitter or biting, it lives up to its moniker, and is right on time for the soon-to-sun-up summer season.

From the Brewery: “Keeping it crisp and clean, Poundable Pilsner is the perfect beer for a sunny beach day. Sit back and relax on these smooth suds brewed with Czech Saaz hops and German pilsner malt. The bright flavor of spicy lemon and herbal hops makes this 4.8% alcohol-by-volume pilsner more than refreshing…it’s poundable.”—James Banuelos, Owner & Founder, Beach Grease Beer Co.
