From the Beer Writer: The “Beeramar” mainstay has gone ultra-modern with the latest addition to their year-round offerings, employing newer New World hops to create an India pale ale more in-line with current tastes. Luped In IPA is big on lemon candy, orange and apricot-like flavors with grassy, piney supporting notes. Rather than coming across crisp, tiny bubbles lead to a softness that makes it just as easy-drinking as a more archetypal San Diego IPA.
From the Brewer: “Going into 2019, we knew we wanted to change our core lineup by adding a new IPA. After many discussions and trials, we realized what we wanted was a beer that was light, drinkable, mildly bitter and had an intense stone fruit character featuring Idaho 7 hops, one of our favorite varietals. The result is Luped In, a 6.5% alcohol-by-volume take on the classic West Coast IPA that’s dry, balanced and smoothly bitter with a ton of hops. The Idaho 7 gives the beer amazing notes of peach, mango, and sticky pine. “—Ryan Crisp, Head Brewer, AleSmith Brewing
