Founded in 2013, Grantville-based Benchmark Brewing Company is searching for a buyer.
“Benchmark Brewing Company is looking for a buyer,” said co-founder Rachael Akin in a Facebook post today.
“As many of you know Matt and I have been struggling in the extreme with our distribution sales over the past year, the loss in revenue has led us to sever ties now that our contract has ended, and sign on with a new distributor (Brown Bag Beverage). We are feeling positive about the potential of this new partnership, and have confidence that we will show strong growth over the next several months, to get back on track. BUT things are very pressing at this point, we are in a dispute with our landlord that will cause us to lose our headquarters space in a little over week, the only solution at this point is cash. So if you or anyone you know might be interested in a brewery please direct them to me. rachael@benchmarkbrewing.com”
Benchmark opened a satellite tasting room in Bay Park in July, and their Oatmeal Stout twice won medals at the Great American Beer Festival.
