Celebrating its 12 years in business this October, Hamilton’s Tavern has been going ham and pushing beer into the gaping maws of San Diegans through a consistent lineup of quality events. Here’s a look at what’s on deck:
Friday, September 29 @ 3 p.m.
Firkin Friday w/ Beach Grease & Nickel Beer Co.
This is a chance to try relative newcomers Beach Grease (Vista), along with beers by one of SD’s most respected brewers, Tom Nickel of Nickel Beer (Julian). As the event name implies, there will be cask-conditioned beers available.
Saturday, October 6 @ 1 p.m.
Hamilton’s Oktoberfest w/ South Park Brewing
A cool San Diego-meets-Germany blend of European and domestic flavors, 45 German and German-style beers will be on tap, along with an in-theme menu of fried pretzels, schnitzelwiches, and currywurst fries. Taste imported Hofbrau and Ayinger (and more) alongside with locally-brewed offerings from the likes of Gordon Biersch, Karl Strauss, and others. There will be a keep-the-glass special, plus stein holding and “best dressed” contests.
Saturday, October 13 @ 5 p.m.
Second Saturday w/ Burgeon & Kern River
Tap takeover split between two high-caliber breweries. Burgeon is fresh off winning a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival for their session beer Noble Miner. Second Saturday means complimentary food, too!
Saturday, October 20 @ 5 p.m.
“PfrieMont” Takeover w/ pFriem & Fremont
Taste some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest with Seattle’s Fremont Brewing & Oregon’s pFreim Family Brewers. pFreim just won two medals at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival, and Fremont has earned three GABF medals along with one World Beer Cup award.
Friday, October 26 @ 3 p.m.
Firkin Friday w/ AleSmith’s Evil Dead Red
AleSmith’s Halloween-inspired, hoppy red ale is only available in September and October, and has an ABV of 6.66% *spooky noises*
