No foolin’—there’s plenty of great beer events happening during the month of April! Gear up for the action by checking out some of these high-profile suds-centric happenings, then consult our full list of local beer events here.
April 3 | Can Launch Pool Party: After 20 years, Coronado Brewing Company’s beer is getting a facelift and it involves aluminum, and rather sleekly designed aluminum at that. Enjoy a plethora of cans, pool-side along with live bluegrass music from Chugboat when they debut classics Islander IPA and Orange Avenue Wit along with the brand-new Easy Up Pale Ale at the Lafayette Hotel. | Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows, 2223 El Cajon Boulevard, North Park, 12 p.m.
April 9 | Rhythm & Brews Festival: There ain’t no party like a San Diego Brewers Guild party and this is one of the best of the year. When the county’s breweries get together for a show of force, it’s reliably incredible. Throw in multiple stages with rotating soulful musical acts and you have a sure-fire bet for a day of beer-tasting you’re sure to remember. | Vista Village District, Vista, VIP: 12 p.m., General Admission: 1 p.m.
April 9 | Craft Beer Circus: Two big beer festivals on the same day? Indeed! Not in North County, lack rhythm or are just too giddy for the blues? Check out this Liberty Station-based fest featuring showy, outlandish circus-style acts along with beers from a wide array of breweries, craft and…other. Catch this show as it travels through the rest of Southern California. | Liberty Station, 2751 Dewey Road, Point Loma, 1 p.m.
April 19 | Craft Beer Job Fair: Like every great industry on a monumental growth tear with businesses opening by the dozens each year, the local craft brewing industry is in need of talented individuals help keep this runaway train thundering down the tracks. If you think you have what it takes to help a brewery, whether it be in the brewery, cellar or admin offices, grab your CV and come on out. | SILO at Makers Quarter, 753 15th Street, East Village, 4 p.m.
April 23 | CityBeat Festival of Beers: It’s the same time each year, same place each year—because there’s no need to mess with something that ain’t broke. This festival from fellow San Diego publication, San Diego CityBeat, serves up a good time fueled by beer and live music. The last part’s particularly fitting since proceeds benefit the San Diego Music Foundation. | In front of the Lafayette Hotel, 2223 El Cajon Boulevard, North Park, VIP: 1 p.m., General Admission: 2 p.m.
