Have you ever wanted to try your hand at a Masskrugstemmen—a beer stein-holding competition? Here’s your chance, and it’s for a great cause! Guests, beer fans, and party-goers all have the opportunity to sample the region’s best brews and food, try their hand at a beer stein-holding competition, and dance the night away at BraveCort Foundation’s second annual Brew Fest & Masskrugstemmen on October 10 in La Jolla.
The BraveCort Brew Fest is taking over the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival Wine & Beer Garden location for an event-packed evening benefiting pediatric brain cancer research in San Diego. Did you know that every day 13 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with a brain tumor? The BraveCort Foundation, in partnership with Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, will donate all proceeds from the event to pediatric brain cancer research within the San Diego region.
San Diego-based URBN St. Brewing Co. will produce a specialty BraveCort Brew to honor BraveCort founders Brian and Andrea’s son, Cort, who passed from a rare form of brain cancer. This year’s ceremonious brew will be a BraveCort Imperial Stout 11.1%.
Guests can also expect to taste unlimited craft breweries from local favorites, including:
- Ballast Point Brewing Co.
- Bay City Brewing
- Coronado Brewing Co.
- Fat Cat Beer Co.
- La Jolla Brewing Co.
- New English Brewery Co.
- Rock Bottom Brewery
- Saint Archer Brewing Co.

About the BraveCort Foundation
The BraveCort Foundation (a 501c3 non-profit) is working to fight one of the deadliest forms of childhood cancer—brain cancer. Each year in the U.S., approximately 13,500 children are diagnosed with cancer. Our mission at BraveCort is simple: We raise funds and awareness to advance research in cancers targeting children with an emphasis on pediatric brain cancer. We deploy funds raised directly in the corresponding region where we host charity events. We want our supporters to know that their contributions are at work within their community.
