Tomorrow, Thursday, June 5th, a new craft beer program begins at Morton’s, the Steakhouse in downtown San Diego. After deciding to add a few craft beer cans to their existing wine and meat repertoire, the steakhouse was amazed to watch the modest craft offering take off in sales. Soon after, the idea was hatched to try out a beer dinner – and here’s their first effort:
First Course: Ahi Tuna Towner w/ Wonton Chips pairied with Lomaland Saison
Second Course: Mixed Green Salad tossed w/ Goat Cheese, MAndarin Oranges, Toasted Walnuts & Dijon Vinaigrette paired with Fourtunate Islands Hoppy Wheat
Third Course: 16oz Double-Cut Cajun Pork Chop w/ Horseradish Mashed Potatoes OR 8oz Center-Cut Filet Mignon w/ Blue Cheese Butter, Carmelized Onions paired with Blazing World Hoppy Amber
Fourth Course: Crème brûlée pairied with Monster’s Park Imperial Stout
Price: $89, tax and tip included in the price. More info and tickets: click here.
While the price point is high, so are the prices normally at Morton’s and they’ve actually cut quite a deal here to try to get their beer program off the ground. In addition, a Modern Times brewer will be in attendance enjoying tasty food + beer and fielding questions.
Disclosure: Morton’s has given us no money nor free tickets for this event, I just like promoting new craft beer programs 🙂
