
Last night Karl Strauss Downtown released “25 Years Behind Bars,” a ginger and lemongrass witbier brewed by Bonnie Peterson, a beertender who’s been with the company for 25 years. With an assist from brewer Sean Albrecht, the beer came out at 5% ABV, 11 IBU and 3 SRM.
Bonnie’s quote of the night: “This is a light, refreshing, spicy beer that, unlike me, will only be here for a limited time.” She’s right — only 10 barrels were brewed, and the majority is going on tap downtown. Added bonus: $1 from each pint sold goes to KARL’s Brewers Education Fund.
