One of San Diego’s newest breweries, Modern Times, will host their grand opening party in two sessions on Saturday, September 7. A $25 ticket includes a taster glass and 10 four-ounce pours; tickets are $5 for designated drivers.
Tonight in South Park the Sports Arena-based brewery will be hosted by Buona Forchetta for their first beer dinner. Here are the four courses:
• Imported Italian artichoke hearts sautéed with garlic and herbs. Paired with Lomaland Saison.
• Michelle pizza – crème fraiche, speck, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, thyme. Paired with Fortunate Islands Hoppy Wheat.
• Homemade fettuccine pasta sautéed with steamed potato and string beans in a pesto sauce. Paired with Blazing World Amber IPA.
• Tiramisu. Paired with Black House Oatmeal Coffee Stout
Brewer & Party Ambassador Derek Freese — yes, his real title — will be on hand for this reservation-only dinner that’s $60 all-inclusive. There are two seatings: one at 6 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m. Call 619-381-4844 if you’d like to attend.
