Just because it’s Tuesday doesn’t mean it’s too early to start planning for the weekend. From what we’ve gathered on our web calendar, there are several great events just on Saturday:

Karl Strauss’ Changing of the Barrels – Party inside the PB HQ and try out the 25th Anniversary Doppelbock before it spends a year in American oak Bourbon barrels. $50 gets you beer for the night, a MIHO food ticket, commemorative 24th Anny tasting glass, plus live music and mingling with KARL folk.

Fathom Bistro Bait & Tackle’s Grand Opening – Former Hamilton’s manager Dennis Borlek’s new place on the Shelter Island Pier is a sight to behold. A college roommate of Russian River’s Vinnie Cilurzo, you can expect some great beer to be flowing from Borlek’s 15 taps from the onset.

Blind Lady Ale House’s 2nd Annual Cape Run  – BLAH’s 4th Anniversary celebrations continue (today is rare beer lunch day before an Automatic Brewing release at 5 p.m.) with a fun cape run to Toronado, Live Wire, Tiger!Tiger! and back to Blind Lady. $44 gets you four beers at the four bars plus a new t-shirt and sweatband.

PubCakes’ 2-year Anniversary Party & Farewell – Local entrepreneur Misty Birchall will be looking to take PubCakes in a different direction this year, but not before throwing a good party complete with a beer garden featuring local breweries. $3 gets you entrance and a beer ticket, and additional tasters are $1.

Local Habit’s Sour Saturday – Pucker up! The Hillcrest restaurant has put together quite the sour list, including The Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme, Bear Republic Cuvee de Bubba, Craftsman Winter Weisse, Craftsman Honesty Ale, Eagle Rock Tarte Noir, Telegraph Obscura Vulpine with local blackberries, The Bruery Sour in the Rye and The Bruery Rueuze.

Latitude 33’s Pint Night @ The Royal Dive – Join Head of Brewery Operations (HOBO) Kevin Buckley & company for a keep-the-pint night in Oceanside. The Vista-based brewery is gearing up for a big first-year anniversary party on March 9.

Added since posting:

Barrel-Aged Beer Night @ Hoffer’s Cigar Bar – Great beers from Ballast Point, Sierra Nevada, Allagash, Hess Brewing, AleSmith, Hangar 24, Green Flash/Cigar City and Firestone Walker, plus a new line of cigars on offer.

All 10 Green Flash Anniversary Beers @ KnB Wine Cellars – American Strong Ale, Barley Wine, Trippel, Imperial IPA, Double Columbus IPA, 30th Street Pale Ale, Belgian Red Rye, Surfs Up IPA, Geren Bullet and Flanders Drive Red Sour Ale.

English Ale Tasting @ Holiday Wine Cellar – Five 4 oz tasters is just $5 at this event. Examples of classic English beer styles will be on hand.
