North Park’s The Linkery, recently referred to by the LA Times as “a rock star of the local dining scene,” takes to the stage with its weekly Tuesday night special starting at 5PM: fried chicken and 1/2 price flights of beer.

There’s more to this pairing than meets the eye, though. The chicken is pasture-raised locally at TAJ Farms in Valley Center before getting fried up in house-made breading and drizzled with local honey. The baby broccoli on the side, sautéed with house-cured bacon, is from San Diego’s Suzie’s Farm. Mashed potatoes infused with caramelized onions are topped with chicken gravy and bits of sausage to complete the plate.

On the beer side, a you-pick-it flight of four 5 oz tasters costs $7 instead of $14. And thanks to the second annual Green Flash grillout and tap takeover that took place on Sunday, the current tap list is all local, too. Cheers to that!
