Mission Beer Dinner @ Local Habit
The Hillcrest farm-to-table restaurant helps celebrate Edible San Diego’s Eat Drink Local Week with a three course meal paired with Mission beers by Chef Nick Brune. Tickets are $47.57 at this link, with several seatings to choose from. First course: Beet ravioli with marinated fennel and California goat cheese, paired with Mission Blonde Ale; Second course: Spur Valley chicken confit with lavender potatoes or noodle galette with carrot puree and zucchini emulsion, paired with Jasper’s Extra Pale Ale; Third course: Dark Seas ice cream float with raspberry coulis, paired with Mission Dark Seas Imperial Stout.

Mission Beer Dinner @ BiCE
Two times in two days for Mission Brewery, but this dinner will be the first beer pairing put on by the BiCE staff. The meal costs $62, plus tax and tip. The appetizer: Beer-drunken cheese and boar sausage on a pretzel bread crouton, polenta “steak fries”; paired with Mission Jasper’s Extra Pale Ale; First course: Potato gnocchi with Mission Amber-braised pork ribs, paired with Mission Amber; Main course: Oven-roasted whole pork leg marinated overnight in beer, porcini sauce served table-side, paired with Mission Shipwrecked Double IPA; Dessert: Mission Dark Seas-burnt sugar flan, espresso sauce; paired with Mission Dark Seas Imperial Stout. Ballast Point Beer Dinner @ Sessions Public
A three-course, bacon-centric meal with be served in Ocean Beach’s Sessions Public featuring Ballast Point beers. Sessions owner Abel Kaase has a long-standing friendship with Ballast Point owner Jack White, both Point Loma natives, so you know the beers selected will be top notch. That list has not been released yet, nor has the menu, but when it is we will update this post. Iron Fist Beer Dinner @ Gingham
Five different chefs at the La Mesa restaurant will prepare dishes paired with Iron Fist beers for $65 per person, plus tax and tip. First course (Ryan Studebaker, Executive Chef): Smoked lamb belly carpaccio, fig, pistachio dust, arugula and cherry gastrique, paired with Velvet Glove; Second course (Joel Cammet, Executive Sous Chef): Pulled pork pirogues, Memphis-style BBQ, spaghetti squash and grains of paradise, paired with Spice of Life; Third course (Abraham Fregoso, Sous Chef): Black tea and chili-braised duck sliders, jalapeño and agave marmalade and jicama slaw, paired with Golden Age; Fourth course (Jason Baker, Sous Chef): Braised veal cheeks, peach demi glaze and summer vegetable sauté, paired with Dubbel Fist; Fifth course (Rachel King, Pastry Chef): Vanilla bean panna cotta, coconut passion sorbet with mango and lime crunch, paired with Hired Hand. Manzanita Beer Dinner @ Vagabond
Chef Paul Niles’ global-inspired cuisine will be on show at the South Park venue. The courses and pairings have not yet been released, but when they are this post will be updated. Updated courses: First course: Tuna poke, avocado, togarashi and taro chips, paired with Pale Ale; Second course: Lamb meatball slider, romesco sauce, house-made tater tot, paired with Rustic Horizon Red; Third course: Roasted chicken roulade with spaetzle, fried vegetables and brown butter, paired with Gillespie Brown Ale; Fourth course: Roasted mushroom salad with truffle oil, toasted ciabatta and burrata, paired with IPA; Fifth course: Cheese board tasting with quince paste, fig jam and cranberry walnut bread; paired with Chaotic Double IPA. Karl Strauss Beer Dinner @ Albert’s Restaurant (SD Zoo)
Award-winning beers from Karl Strauss’ Paul Segura will be paired with dishes from San Diego Zoo Executive Chef Chris Mirguet and Sous Chefs Charles Boukas and Matt Jillson starting at 6:45 p.m. A reception with live animal presentation will begin 45 minutes earlier on the Treehouse Plaza Deck, where Pintail Pale Ale and Off The Rails will be paired with pumpernickel and ham petit fours, a cambozola, camembert and white cheddar cheese board, plus cured meats and mustards. The first course will pair Tower 10 IPA with chilled prawns and chorizo salad; the second course will pair Wreck Alley Imperial Stout with beef stout stroganoff; the third course will pair Boardwalk Black Rye IPA with blackened pork loin; and finally, for dessert; Windansea Wheat Hefeweizen will pair with pumpkin banana crème brulee. Toast with a pint of Punkin Ale at the 7 p.m. reception before enjoying a five-course meal featuring one of the East Coast’s most sought-after breweries, Dogfish Head. First course: Corn chowder with bacon jam, paired with Festina Peche; Second course: Anson Mills stone-cut oatmeal risotto with wild mushroom and caramelized onion, paired with My Antonia; Third course: Crispy skin Loch Duart salmon, lentils, roasted pumpkin and savory spinach, paired with Namaste; Fourth course: Balsamic-braised pork shoulder with creamy orzo, paired with Indian Brown Ale; Dessert: Valrhona dark chocolate biscotti with macerated cherries and sweet mascarpone, paired with Palo Santo Marron. Chef Nick Brune has collaborated with Societe brewers/founders Doug Constantiner and Travis Smith to create a delicious five-course meal. There will be two seatings (6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.), and the cost is $50, plus tax and tip. First course: Shaved beets with orange coriander-glazed octopus, paired with The Harlot; Second course: Potato-wrapped Pacific fish with Springhill chive butter and lemon fritto, paired with The Apprentice; Third course: Eggplant roulade with crab, artichoke puree and Thai basil, paired with The Pupil; Fourth course: Pluot ravioli with rabbit ragout and rabbit liver vinaigrette, paired with The Butcher; Fifth course: Toasted walnut custard cake with California raisins, paired with The Widow. AleSmith Beer Dinner @ Ritual Tavern
Newly-annointed Chef Kyle Bergman will be hosting his first beer dinner at Ritual Tavern during the North Park restaurant’s 5th Anniversary month, and the AleSmith brewers will on hand for this five-course meal featuring Evil Dead Red and a double coffee version of Speedway Stout. Coronado Beer Dinner @ JSix
Jsix chefs will be creating a four-course dinner featuring “nose-to-tail” dishes from a whole pig, goat and rabbit.
