Neighborhood’s New Plans

February 8, 2012 By Ryan Lamb

Neighborhood, a craft-beer focused restaurant situated on the corner of 8th Ave and G St in downtown San Diego’s East Village, opened in 2007 with a mission to “Promote Intelligent Consumption.” Five years later, they are now hoping to expand within their current building to accommodate a bottle shop and growler fill space UPDATE 4:50PM – Owner Arsalun Tafazoli now says it is a tasting room he plans to open, not a growler fill space; a Conditional Use Permit application dated January 17th, 2012 was filed with the Centre City Development Corporation (CCDC).

This move would bring the beer-for-here/beer-to-go model close to the Gaslamp Quarter where many tourists and conventioneers stay while in town.

If you would like to know more about the Centre City Advisory Committee’s (CCAC) meeting dates, times and locations for community review of this project, contact Bill Keller, Chair of the CCAC, via email at bill@letravelstore.com. A notice of public hearing will be mailed out at least 10 business days prior to the date of the hearing. Support for this project can be sent to Lorena Cordova at the CCDC is the woman to contact. Her e-mail address is cordova@ccdc.com.
