1130A-12P – Toronado will be celebrating its 3rd Anniversary. Beers on tap will include a Green Flash / Midnight Sun collaboration barley wine called Green Devil, Bruery’s 3rd Anniversary Ale wood-aged, Hollister Brewing Co.’s White Star on nitro, $3 pints of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, New Belgium’s Le Terroir dry-hopped sour ale, and Deschutes Abyss 2010…..just to name a few.
5P – Keep the Pint Night w/ AleSmith @ Urge Gastropub will feature a cask of Speedway Stout
5P – O’Brien’s will have a limited amount of Kern River’s Anniversary Double IPA in bottles along with pork belly tacos.
6P – San Diego Now: The State of Beer in San Diego is a panel discussion from the San Diego Historical Society moderated by Jeff Hammett, our writer and man behind sandiegobeerblog.com. Panelists include Chris Cramer, Co-Founder of Karl Strauss, Brian Jensin, owner of the newly-opened Bottlecraft bottle shop, and Colby Chandler, Ballast Point’s Specialty Brewer and former San Diego Brewers Guild President. The discussion will take place at 1649 El Prado Suite 3 in Balboa Park.
630P – The Lodge at Torrey Pines will host Stone Brewing Co. in their monthly craft beer pairings. $55 dollars gets you five courses of 5-star cuisine paired with five generous Stone pours in a gorgeous dining environment.

5P – According to BLAH: “FM 94/9 Random Act w/ AutomaticBrewingCo Belgian Insider Cream Ale.”
5P – O’Brien’s will have a cask of Alpine’s Pure Hoppiness on the beer engine, along with smoked beer bottles such as Aecht Schlenkerla Marzen, Ur Bock and Oaked Smoked Boch in bottles for $6 each.
6-9P – Part of the AIGA’s Idea Series will feature Craft Brewing in their ongoing moderated speaking panel format. One hour of discussion, two hours of food and beer tasting. Cost is $35 and includes food + beer. More information, click here.

4 – 8P – Barks For Brews @ Mission Brewery. “Join other pet lovers at Mission Brewery for the first annual Bark for Brews! $1.00 from each pint and taster flight of locally crafted ale goes directly to one of our favorite local pet rescues, The Barking Lot.” More information, click here.
4-10P – According to Manzanita, “We will be celebrating Garry’s 40th Birthday in the Tasting Room on Friday, May 27th. We will have our first Real Ale Cask on the Beer Engine, Pale Ale.”
5P – The 3rd Annual Shipyard Memorial Day Lobsterfest will take place at Hamilton’s. Shippy Beer + Garlic Baja-grilled Maine lobster tails and a low country boil will accompany 18 Shipyard brews including Export Ale, Fuggies IPA, Double Thumper, Small Beer Double Thump, Chamberlain Pale, Sea Dog Blueberry.
All weekend starting Friday – This weekend O’Brien’s will be releasing a plethora of great beer from their stash. First come, first serve basis. “We will have a 7 year vertical of Fuller’s Vintage Ale, 2004-2010, a 4 year vertical of Unibroue’s anniversary ales – 2005, Edition 15 (2006), Edition 16 (2007) and Edition 17 (2008), 2005 Young’s Old Nick Barleywine, Russian River Consecration Batch #1, 2008 North Coast Old Stock Ale, 2008 Rodenbach Vintage, 2009 Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, 2009 Lost Abbey Cuvee de Tomme, 2009 North Coast Old Stock Ale Cellar Reserve, 2010 La Folie and 2010 Anchor Christmas Ale magnums all available in bottles.”

11A – 3P – Progressive Cask @ BLAH. $2 beers from the cask 11A-2P, then $3 beers until 3PM. Cask is Stone Smoked Porter w/ Vanilla Bean.
Saturday 5/28
10A- Lost Abbey Veritas 009 Release. “The most complex and time-consuming beer released by the brewery to date, Veritas 009 took more than three years and periods in bourbon and wine barrels to create.” Limited release, and there will be a line so get there early. More info, click here.
12P – New Belgium BeerBQ @ KnB Wine Cellars. All New Belgium beers will be $4. On tap? La Folie, Oo-La-La, Shati, Grand Cru, Super Cru, Blue Paddle, Ranger, Mothership, Fat Tire, Sommersault, The Grub. There will be La Folie brined ribs , Oo-La-La marinated gouda stuffed burgers, Oo-La-La marinated Portobello Burgers, Sommersault infused bratwurst, and Fat Tire soaked watermelon.
5P – TIME IS APPROXIMATE. A new brewery will be launched at The Ritual Tavern, Butcher’s Brewing. According to the brewery, “We are focused on our own unique interpretation of historical styles as well as creating innovative new styles such as our Hawaiian Style Pale Ale. Butcher’s™ beer will be available locally through regional distribution and internationally in Japan, and will also develop proprietary brands for SoCal based restaurants and pubs.”

12P – 4P – Green Flash will be hosting a closing party to commemorate the shuttering of their Vista location.
